Leneka Rhoden is a seasoned Natural Scientist and Project Management Professional, boasting over 7 years of expertise in the realms of Science, Energy, and Education/Training. She currently serves as the Director of Energy Systems and Conservation for the Government of Jamaica, where her multifaceted skill set shines in Energy Efficiency, Climate Strategic Management, Policy Development, Communications, Research, Grant Writing, and Business Development. Throughout her career, Leneka has contributed to multinational project teams, working with organizations such as the Commonwealth Secretariat, BroadHaven Management Consulting Firm, Scientific Research Council, and the University of the West Indies, Mona. Her proficiency extends to resource mobilization and team management.
Leneka's background includes substantial experience in strengthening global advocacy campaigns and facilitating capacity-building training for climate leaders across research, policy, and project management. She holds an Honors BSc. Degree in Marine Biology and International Relations and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Environmental Biology (Renewable Energy) at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Leneka is a philanthropist at heart, and through her foundation, iAspire International, she has been able to impact the lives of over 300,000 youth across Jamaica through capacity building, clothes drives, and empowerment. Additionally, Leneka is a certified Project Management professional, having completed programs at the Inter-American Development Bank, the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), and the University of Adelaide (Australia). She also holds post-graduate training in Law and Policy from the University of Bradford (United Kingdom), specializing in Global Changes, Climate Change, Energy, and Bioremediation.
