Title: Introduction to / Motivation of TQFTs
Abstract:
This talk is an invitation to the topological quantum field theories (TQFTs), with three short overviews of different flavors of TQFTs: Donald will speak of Topological (Supersymmetric) Quantum Mechanics and the links to Morse Theory, Alexandre will present 3d Floer Homology and Valdo will discuss theta terms in Maxwell/Yang-Mills theories and instantons.

Title: TQFTs of Witten-type
Abstract:
In this talk, we will explore Witten-type topological quantum field theories (TQFTs). Although their action functional incorporates
the spacetime metric g_{αβ}, these theories do not depend on the metric. They usually arise as the topological twist of physical theories.
First, we will examine the theory of twists and briefly discuss their moduli spaces. Next, we will focus on topological twists of super Yang-Mills theory.
We will conclude with a discussion of Donaldson theory, a notable example of a topological quantum field theory that has revolutionized our understanding of low-dimensional geometry and its connection to quantum field theory.
