In order for students to be able to move safely, they must wear tennis shoes to PE. Boots, Crocs and slip on shoes often times are not safe in the gym. Sometimes boots will be too slippery on the gym floor and students may not be able to move safely. Slip-ons and Crocs often times slip on the floor as well. These types of shoes are also more likely to fly off when kicking. Sandals and flip flops are never appropriate for PE. Please be sure students wear tennis shoes on their PE days. It can be very disappointing to students when they have to miss an activity because their shoes aren't safe. If you have any issues finding tennis shoes for your student, please reach out to us.
If your student is wearing shoes that do not allow them to safely participate in PE they will need to sit out. Your student will know what days they have PE and should wear appropriate shoes on those days. Repeated instances of sitting out will affect the student's grade.
If your student wears a skirt or a dress to school, please be sure they are wearing shorts underneath so they can feel comfortable moving.
