2025 Tournament Schedule
Again, his year the CTC will be hosting five fun tournaments, scheduled around the spring, summer and fall long weekends. The tournaments will be open to all club members, of all skill levels. These tournaments are intended to enhance the social aspect to the club and provide some friendly competition.
All registration for the next tournament will be through a linked form here.
This year’s tournament schedule is provided below:
Victoria Day Tournament – 19 May 2025: This tournament will be a paired doubles tournament where players will keep their partners for the three set/eight game per set format. This tournament will be open to all members that have paid their 2025 membership dues, (hopefully an incentive to get those dues in early). Registration will not be limited.
Canada Day Tournament – 1 July 2025: This tournament will be your opportunity to dress in red, bring your Canada Flag and celebrate Canada. Players will keep their partners for each of the three sets and play will include modified tournament rules with youth and experience (read age) used to determine partners. Registration is limited to the first 24 members, with a wait list.
Looney Tourney – 4 August 2025: If you were concerned that court play at CTC was getting a little too serious, this is the tournament will dispel those thoughts and add even more fun to playing tennis. Looney rules apply to level the playing field. Rules as always, TBD – stay tuned. Registration is limited to the first 24 members, with a wait list.
Labour Day Tournament – 1 September 2025: Now that you have a season’s worth of experience, this tournament is designed to give you an opportunity to show your stuff. Partners will be assigned with a 2.5- player partnered with a 3.0+ player and will use actual tennis rules in a three set/eight game format. Registration is limited to the first 24 members, with a wait list.
Turkey Tournament - 13 October 2024 – One last tournament before the snow flies. This tournament will be a dress to disguise – after all Halloween is only a couple of weeks away. Partners will be determined by random draw and play will be the normal (?) tournament rules. Registration is limited to the first 24 members, with a wait list.
As happened last year, we will be having a social (potluck) get-together following each tournament to give all players an opportunity to replay great shots, recount the “but only ifs,” but mostly enjoy the great company of your fellow club members. Registration is limited to the first 24 members, with a wait list.
