The Club has a strong and growing development program, under the leadership of two certified instructors and assistants. Introductory level lessons are available privately, or in a group/family setting for a fee (members of the CTC may receive group instructional clinics from time-to-time at no additional cost during the playing season).
Clinics
Information for the 2026 tennis season to come...
Clinics are up tempo, high volume ball striking events. Proper technique is key to avoiding injury. Instructors provide minimal technique instruction, but will offer quick tips.
Clinic participation should not be considered an alternative to formal instruction, which is available for a fee. Clinic participation is a "no fee" benefit to active club members.
Lessons
Tennis lessons are available to the general public by referral to a certified instructor, not directly from The Coverdale Tennis Club.
Formal instruction is available by Tennis Canada Certified Instructors, outside of Club play hours, for a fee. Weekends are generally not available for instruction. Coverdale Tennis Club is able to supply a limited amount of racquets for both youth and adults receiving instruction, at no charge to the student. Those receiving instruction have access to a fully equipped program of balls, hoppers, pickers, racquets, and other teaching aids.
Coverdale Tennis Club is fortunate to claim 2 actively certified Tennis Canada Instructors to lead its strong and growing development program. Cheryl Kydd and Shaun O'Reilly provide quality instruction throughout the season with an eye on lifelong participation in this positive, life extending game.
Instruction is available to individuals and small groups (up to 3 persons). The 5 session introductory package is intended to be concluded in 4 weeks. As with most skill development learning, practice between instruction sessions is a significant benefit to participants.
