ABOUT HOBO MAGAZINE.
Hobo - Coventry Music and Arts Magazine, was a grassroots magazine published in Coventry between 1973 and 1975, founded by Trev Teasdel and John Bargent (Bo). In 2003 it began again and by 2006 had reinvented itself as a suite of Coventry music archive websites and resources. https://covmusicscenehobo.blogspot.com/
The Coventry Movers and Shakers.
This work is the result of a number of Coventry movers and shakers who have given their time freely to document Coventry's longstanding and vibrant music and arts scene, long before it was designated as the next City of Culture. These include Ian Green and The Broadgate Gnome, and musician Rex Brough who both presented their own A to Z's of Coventry bands as early as 2003 and Martin Bowes of Alternative Sounds, Tim James - musician, Pete Chambers, music journalist, researcher, author of Godiva Rocks and curator of the Coventry Music Museum and his team, Pete Clemons who has written many Coventry music articles for the Coventry Telegraph and Hobo, Al Docker and John Docker, Cov musos and gig activists, and the many musicians that have contributed material and memories.
Unfortunately the original A to Z's by Ian Green and Rex Brough are now off line and the book Godiva Rocks by Pete Chambers which also had an A to Z, is now out of print. Without their sterling work, many of these bands may have been lost to history. Of course there are many more bands and artists from Coventry as yet unacknowledged - let us know if you were in one at hobozine@googlemail.com
