BANDITS c 1963 In the article linked here by Pete Clemons on the Ekco Four Pete writes "One mystery I have are some gig dates i have by a spin off band called The Bandits who apparently also featured Tony Martin. These gigs occurred at the end of 1963 at the Flying Club and the Parkstone Club in Coventry." Anyone throw any light on this band?

BEACHMANTANGO " Featured multi-instrumentalist and super-session player Anthony Harty (who also played on the Grammy Award winning album Jamaican ET by Lee 'Scratch' Perry. He later played in the Flying Tortellinis with keyboard player from King - Mick Roberts and The Supernaturals with Hazel O'Connor, Paul Weller's Style Council and Box of Blues with Neol Davies and Horace Panter. . Both had been in Walnut Conspiracy.

BLACK AND WHITE NOTES An early band or Noel McCalla (he was 15) in Coventry. Noel left and went back to London where he was born and joined Moon with Cov's Loz Netto - guitar (ex Nack ed en with John Bradbury 1970 later of Specials) and Ron Lawrence bass (Ex folk rock band April - 1970). They went on to join Sniff and the Tears 1979 and had a US hit with Drivers Seat. Noel went on to play with Partners in Crime, Manfred Mann's Earth Band in the 90's.Lox went solo and Ron sessioned with the Kinks and many more.

Broadgate Gnome / Hobo) The link goes to Gregorian Chant who were also known variously as Boots / Children and Canyon. They made a single with producer Mike Berry - a Young Rascal's number called You Better Run and Carl Palmer's brother joined the band at one point.

THE BRETHREN c 1965 Beat group. Line up: Ian Elson (guitar), Simon Aston (bass), Howard Smith (Vocals), Paul Hughes (Drums) and Edward Tudor (Ted) Crum ( Vocals and mouth organ). Originally “The Exclusive Brethren”. Ian went on to join The Heart of England Folk Group in 1968, a popular folk group based in Leamington. Ted Crum joined Sneaks Noise.

BRONZE COTTAGE - Geoff Tookey formed this outfit at school early 70's with Gordon Montgomery from Cheylesmore 'we formed a folky thing called Bronze Cottage'.

BROOMDUSTERS c 1965-7 Blues band. Line up: Bill Dodd - voc/bass, Mick Blake - lead gtr, Bill Overton - guitar, Ron Walker - drums, Main gigs were The Navvy, New Inn, The Cedars. Later formed Hard Rock with Ron Walker & his brother Graham.

BUMBLE c 1973 Mentioned in HOBO # 1 as playing at the Windsor Free Festival. No further info. " Congrats to Colin Armstrong in reaching the semifinals in the Melody Maker National Rock/Folk contest. Also to Just Jake, Willow, Naked Light, Just Before Dawn, Bumble and all the others who entered. More on them if poss. later."
