Overview
For this assignment we had to explore how social media impacts others and ourselves.
Lesson Learned
I mostly learned more about the statistics and facts when it comes to age and race on the usage of social media.
Social Media addiction survey
After taking the "AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA" quiz, I am not surprised by my results. I mainly use TikTok and not much of any other social media. I am okay with my usage of it and mainly use it as entertain and sometimes as a distraction for personal issues.
"You're fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits! Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?"
Interesting social media statistic
This statistic I chose explains how age gaps are especially large for Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok – platforms that are used by majorities of adults under 30. I chose this because the 3 tops apps are my most used apps at age 19.

Social medias impact on society
In my opinion, I believe social media has impacted in both good and bad ways. On the positive side, it allows people to communicate, share, and raise awareness about important topics. It has also given individuals and businesses opportunities to grow. However, social media also has negative effects, such as spreading misinformation, cyberbullying, and affecting mental health. While social media can be useful, it is important to use it responsibly.
