Coping skills are techniques that help reduce negative feelings when someone is feeling under stress. Those feelings might be the result of anxiety, anger, depression, or just general day-to-day stress. Executive Functioning Skills Group - Wednesdays, July 10 - Aug 28, 5:30 - 6:30PM
Executive functioning (EF) skills are the abilities in our brain that help us complete everyday tasks. These skills include planning, organization, time management, metacognition, working memory, self-control, attention, flexibility, and perseverance. If it sounds like we use them for everything we do, that’d be right – we do! By explicitly teaching and practicing EF skills, we ensure that all children have the strong foundation they need to be successful in and outside of the classroom. We can train our brains to improve these basic skills which will make learning & friendships easier.
