The Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED Course is designed for individuals with little to no medical training who requires certification for job, regulatory (e.g. OSHA), or simply anyone that wants to be prepared in the event of an emergency situation. Common students for this course include foster parents, daycare workers, gym personnel, church personnel, or anyone in the general public. The course is instructor-led and covers the curriculum established by the 2020 American Heart Association CPR & ECC guidelines.
The CPR/AED portion of the course teaches students basic emergency response for victims of sudden cardiac arrest by providing High-Quality CPR and the proper use of AED (automated external defibrillator) devices.
The Basic First Aid segment of the course teaches students how to perform first aid for life threatening medical emergencies and injuries, including fractures, burns, falls, shock, bleeding, strokes, diabetic episodes, and seizures.
Classes can take approximately 4.5 hours to complete. This includes renewal courses. Upon completion, students will receive, via email, their Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, AED Certification, valid for two (2) years.
This course is held on the first Saturday of every month, unless noted otherwise. Class begins at 9:00 AM.
Note: The American Heart Association requires students have their own student workbook. We recommend obtaining the eBook located on the AHA website. We will provide the URL to purchase upon registration.
