Basic Life Support (BLS) is a necessary certification for anyone working in the healthcare field (MDs, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, etc., or students entering any healthcare fields). The knowledge and skills demonstrated in the BLS course equip healthcare professionals to respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest and respiratory failure. The course is instructor-led and covers the curriculum established by the 2020 American Heart Association CPR & ECC guidelines.
The course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support in both prehospital and in-facility settings with the essential focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics.
Classes can take approximately 4.5 hours to complete. This includes renewal courses. Upon completion, students will receive, via email, their BLS Provider Certification, valid for two (2) years.
We hope to soon be able to provide Heartcode BLS, the AHAs online course module. This course allows you to complete the required lectures and test at your own pace, on your own time. You simply have to come in for an in-person skills test in order to obtain your certification. More details to come.
This course is held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, unless noted otherwise. Class begins at 9:00 AM.
Note: The American Heart Association requires students have their own provider manual. We recommend obtaining the eBook located on the AHA website. We will provide the URL to purchase upon registration.
