What is COR?
What is COR?
Despite the appearance our name is not an acronym. In Latin, the noun COR translates into the English language as heart. We've chosen this as our namesake to illustrate our commitment and desire to provide quality education and training. We believe that a community who is equipped with the knowledge and skills to face an emergency can also be a community that knows how to prevent them.
We live in this community, therefore we have a vested interest in its well-being. That includes the people who make it a community. Our classes are personal and friendly. We make sure that what we teach is what you can use and strive to build your confidence in your ability to act in a life-threatening emergency. Whether it's your first time learning CPR or you are simply renewing your certification we will work with you to ensure your skills and knowledge exceed your expectations!
Common Questions
If you need certification for work, we recommend you ask your employer first. However, choosing the right course for you is pretty simple. If you work in any healthcare setting whether it be as an MD, RN, LPN, CNA, PA, RDH, DA, etc. or you are a student in any of these fields, then the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the intended course for you. If the above does not apply to you then the course for you is the First Aid, CPR, & AED course.
Yes! The AHA is our certifying entity for all BLS courses. As an aligned instructor we teach and abide by the 2020 American Heart Association CPR & ECC guidelines. The AHA is the preferred and often only certification accepted by many healthcare facilities in Washington. Upon completion, certifications are valid for two (2) years.
You'll find our registration portal in the top right corner of the screen by clicking Register. The red buttons in each course tab will also direct you to the portal. Here you will choose the course and date you wish to attend. After that we just need your name and email (to send certification).
We're glad you asked. At this time we are unable to accommodate online transactions. For our public classes we accept payment in-person the day of class, via cash or check. We can write you a receipt or invoice for your records.
On-site trainings will be invoiced prior to the start date in order to account for the billing cycle and limit the number of days it takes for students to receive their certification.
Per AHA guidelines, all students are required to have the correct manual for the course they are taking. We recommend you purchase the AHA eBook version of the book you need for ease of access and timely delivery. If you'd prefer a physical copy you can purchase that as well on the AHA site or we can obtain it for you. Simply check the box in the registration portal and we will hand it to you in class. Just make sure to have the updated amount when you pay. Whether you buy the eBook or physical copy it is yours to keep, so make sure to review it from time to time.
This is a pro and con for us. The pro side is that since no transaction occurred we do not have to issue any refund. The con is that we lose our ability to train you or potentially fill the space to train someone else. Therefore, we ask that if you decide to cancel you send us an email at the earliest opportunity and let us know. We'll take it from there on our end of the registration site.
We hope that you decide to come back for one of our following classes!
Unfortunately, we don't have an office. We partner with local organizations and use their community spaces to provide our courses. But don't worry, our use of other facilities does not impede or limit our ability to train you.
If you're organization is located in the Lower Yakima Valley and would like to become a host location, reach out to us. We would be glad to partner with you!
