PPST Domain 7 underscores the importance of teachers' commitment to continuous personal and professional growth. Throughout my practice teaching internship at Nursery High School, I encountered transformative experiences that challenged my capabilities while fostering significant development in both my teaching practice and personal character. These moments of struggle and triumph revealed the profound connection between self-improvement and teaching effectiveness.
My journey of professional growth became most evident during the creation of my final demonstration teaching materials. Venturing outside my comfort zone, I taught myself to use Canvas - an unfamiliar digital platform - to design creative instructional materials. The initial frustration of navigating new technology gradually gave way to empowerment as I mastered basic design skills. This experience taught me that professional development often begins with voluntary discomfort, and that technological competence is no longer optional but essential in modern teaching.
The feedback sessions following my classroom demonstrations provided another crucial growth opportunity. Initially defensive about criticism regarding my pacing and questioning techniques, I learned to receive constructive feedback with grace and curiosity. By my final demonstration, I had developed the ability to immediately implement suggestions, resulting in markedly improved evaluations. This transformation in my receptiveness to feedback represents one of my most valuable professional developments, proving that the best teachers remain perpetual students of their craft.
Perhaps my most profound personal growth emerged from handling interpersonal challenges with co-interns during collaborative projects. When conflicts arose during the Women's Month gift-making project, I was tempted to avoid confrontation. However, through guided reflection with my cooperating teacher, I developed the courage to address issues directly while maintaining professionalism. These uncomfortable moments ultimately strengthened my conflict resolution skills and emotional resilience - qualities I now recognize as vital for sustaining a healthy teaching career.
My internship experience at Nursery High School served as a powerful incubator for growth in PPST Domain 7. Each challenge - whether technological, pedagogical, or interpersonal - became an opportunity to expand my capabilities and professionalism. These experiences have instilled in me a growth mindset that views difficulties as necessary steps toward mastery. As I embark on my teaching career, I carry the conviction that effective educators must commit to lifelong learning, both in developing teaching competencies and in cultivating the personal qualities that sustain excellence in this demanding profession.

This internship has fundamentally altered my understanding of what it means to be a professional educator. I entered believing teaching mastery was about perfecting lesson plans and classroom management techniques. The process of confronting my limitations was often uncomfortable but ultimately liberating.
