The first phase of our refurbishment has been completed. £50,000 has been spent on a wheelchair friendly roundabout, climbing frame, upgrading the swings with an inclusive seat, spinners and new safe flooring.

Thanks to Blakes for their donation to our project. The Liverpool based office supplies and workplace furniture specialist was established by local resident Michael Byrne who is keen to support our playground refurbishment.

The children from Valewood Primary School reminded us of our main objective for the playground refurbishment.
Their UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Ambassadors and Diversity Superheroes are involved in a national campaign by the charity Scope who are striving to make all parks/playgrounds across the country accessible.
They visited the park to complete the Scope questionnaire and these are some of their valuable comments.
They want to try and raise awareness of this important issue through their school and community. They are currently planning ways to support our project and we can't wait to hear their ideas.
We have been awarded £2,000 from the Bruce Wake Charitable Trust. This funding will go towards equipment suitable for children requiring wheelchair access.
Thanks to the local community for supporting our event! The park has never been so busy! The money raised will be split between the playground and lake projects.

Our activities vary each month, from litter picking, gardening, brushing paths, clearing leaves to painting benches. It is a great way to get exercise, engage children with local projects and give back to the community. Join us on the second Saturday from 1pm by the Pavillion.
