Coronation Park
Playground Project
Playground Project
Located in the heart of Crosby, Liverpool.
We want to create a destination park which gives a ‘wow’ factor and uplifts the area.
To ensure that children living with a disability have an equal right to play especially addressing issues raised by the charity Scope in their ‘Let’s Play Fair’ campaign.
It is our hope that by improving this local facility it would have a great impact on the surrounding area, improve the sense of community, reduce anti-social behaviour and provide a platform to hold cultural and entertaining events.

We have completed the first section of our refurbishment! A brand new climbing frame, wheelchair friendly roundabout, inclusive swing seats and safe flooring was installed in May 2024.
Phase 2 in progress!
The focus is now on generating further funds for the next phases.
At the beginning of 2022 a number of local families, consisting of parents and children, started a Saturday session within the long established, Friends of Alexandra and Coronation Park group. Families help with gardening activities, painting benches and litter picking. As a monthly group we encourage the community to come along and work together.
We see this as a great way to engage with younger children, increase exercise and make them feel proud of the area that they live in.
One of the main areas we want to focus on is improving the play area for the local community to enjoy.
Issues with the space:
Lack of equipment
Not accessible or inclusive
Poor surfacing from the old tarmac causing a slippy and gravel like surface.
Anti-social behaviour caused by groups gathering
Not in keeping with the area
