This is a 1958 map of the campus. Things were quite stable for the Greek system during that time but there were several interesting details on the map that have not been discussed in the other sections.
Kappa Nu (1951-1963), a Jewish fraternity, is found on the 1958 campus map at 509 Wyckoff. The Cornell chapter withdrew in 1961 when the national merged with Phi Epsilon Pi. They instead established a Phi Sigma Epsilon chapter at Cornell (1963-1985).
Tau Delta Phi occupying The Architect's House in 1952
The 1958 map below shows Triangle Fraternity (1942-1985) in a house on Campus Road, between Forest Park and Stewart. The address is 601 Stewart and in the 1930's a residence at that address was called "The Architect's House". By 1940 it was called Cornell House and served the university as a dormitory. On the 1945 campus map in shows simply as 601 Stewart - its status like a dozen or so buildings around campus owned and operated by Cornell such as 215 & 225 Fall Creek Drive.
Tau Epsilon Phi is shown at 601 Stewart on the 1948 map and Tau Delta Phi (1934-1971) is shown in the location on the 1952 map (see above). Triangle took over the house sometime in the 1950's. I don't have a photo of the house, only that drawing on the map. It was eventually torn down and the new Delta Tau Delta house built on the same lot a bit to the north and facing east on the new street Forest Park - and with a Forest Park address.
Phi Sigma Sigma sorority (1954-1969 & 2011-2023) is shown at 313 Wait Avenue
Chi Gamma sorority (1920-1921 & 1956-1964) is shown at 150 Triphammer. This reflects Sigma Kappa's change back to the local name.
Phi Alpha (1953-1959), a short-lived Jewish fraternity, is shown with a house at 102 Willard Way. They would go the way of most small Jewish chapters, merged into Phi Sigma Delta in 1959 and then into Zeta Beta Tau two years later. The Willard Way house is still standing, A-3 on the map. A part of the Roitman Chabad Center.
