Intensive Training and Practices (ITaPs) are a 5-day intensive blocks of teaching and learning that focuses on a key foundational areas of ITT.
An ITAP "demonstrate[s] and build[s] the interplay between evidence-based theory and practice, engaging trainees in critical analysis, application of learning to classroom practice, and focused feedback on such practice." (DfE 2024).
ITAP learning takes place in university and in school.

There will be four ITPaPs. The four key foundational areas that have been identified are:

An Understanding of Foundational Concepts -a journey from EYFS to Key Stage 2

Adaptive and Responsive Teaching
