Mind-mapping- To write out a central idea or theme, and writing down all the ideas that radiate out from the original idea.
Thumbnails- A series of quick, short drawings (sketches), about 3 x 4 inches. They work as a drafting exercise; to explore a particular idea or composition.
Representational- Art that is clearly recognizable; it represents objects or figures that are observable in the world.
Abstract- Art that is derived from a natural or observational source, but departs from reality.
Non-objective or nonrepresentational art- Art that does not reference anything observable in the natural world.
Elements of Art- Color- Color, line, shape, space, form, texture, value
Principles of Art- Balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, unity, rhythm, pattern
