COPA 149 Flight Training Bursary
Through the BYBERG FAMILY FOUNDATION, COPA 149 has been able to award a one time Bursary of $1000.00 each year to help with the costs of flight training.
The criteria, in the past, included that the Candidate's flight training had to be done at the Niagara Central Dorothy Rungling Airport ( CNQ3 ).
As there is currently no flight training unit at CNQ3, the decision has been made to remove that criterion.
For the interim, until there is a flight training facility at CNQ3, the following criteria shall apply:
-Candidates will be Canadian Citizens
-Candidates will reside in one of the following: Welland, Pelham, Wainfleet or Port Colborne.
-Candidates from any recognized Flight Training Unit are eligible.
-Candidates must have completed their first solo, and be recommended by their CFI.
-The decision to award the bursary or the amount, is entirely at the discretion of COPA 149.
How to Apply
-The candidate shall draft a letter (emails will not be considered) confirming that they have met all of the criteria.
-The letter must include:
-A brief description of flight training, student permit number, where training is being done, when started, date of first solo, aspirations in aviation, other relevant information.
-Name and address of Flight Training Unit, including a phone number.
-Name and phone number of CFI.
-Name and address of Candidate, with contact phone number.
