Cookdin Private Limited – Account Deletion Policy

1. Introduction

At Cookdin Private Limited (“Cookdin”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), we value the trust you place in us and are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Account Deletion Policy outlines how users (“you” or “your”) can delete their accounts, what happens to their data upon deletion, and our legal obligations related to retaining or removing information.

2. Eligibility for Account Deletion

Any registered user—whether a customer, chef, or vendor—can request the deletion of their Cookdin account at any time. This policy applies to all accounts created through our website, mobile application, or any affiliated service.

3. How to Request Account Deletion

You can initiate account deletion using any of the following methods:

1. In-App Deletion:
   Navigate to Profile → Settings → Delete My Account within the Cookdin mobile app or website.

2. Email Request:
   Send an email to hello@cookdin.in with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. Please include the following details for verification:

   • Registered name

   • Registered email ID or mobile number

   • Reason for deletion (optional)

Once your request is received, our support team will verify your identity and process the deletion within 7–10 business days.

4. Verification Process

To ensure account security and prevent unauthorized access, we may require additional verification such as:

• Confirmation through the registered email or phone number; or

• Identity proof for certain cases involving business or vendor accounts.

If the verification is not completed, the deletion request will remain pending until all necessary confirmations are received.

5. Data Retention After Deletion

Upon successful deletion of your account:

• All personal data such as your name, contact details, saved addresses, preferences, and order history will be permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days.

• Transactional data, such as invoices, tax-related information, and payment records, may be retained for up to 7 years, as required under applicable Indian tax and accounting laws.

• Chat history or communications with our support or chefs may be stored in anonymized form for quality, fraud prevention, or legal compliance purposes.

6. Consequences of Account Deletion

Once your account is deleted:

• You will no longer have access to your Cookdin profile, booking history, or any saved data.

• Any active bookings or subscriptions will be automatically canceled.

• Loyalty points, credits, or wallet balances (if applicable) will be forfeited and cannot be recovered.

• If you are a chef or vendor, your listing and visibility on the platform will also be removed.

Please note that account deletion is irreversible.

7. Deletion of Linked Accounts

If your Cookdin account is linked with third-party platforms (Google, Facebook, or Apple), deletion from Cookdin does not automatically delete your data from those third-party services. You will need to manage those separately under their respective privacy policies.

8. Data Deletion Exceptions

We may retain limited data even after account deletion in the following cases:

• To comply with legal, regulatory, or tax obligations;

• To resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or prevent fraud;

• When data is required for legitimate business purposes permitted under law (e.g., aggregate analytics without personal identifiers).

Such retained data will be securely stored and isolated from active systems.

9. Restoration of Deleted Accounts

Once deleted, an account cannot be restored. However, you may register a new account using the same email or phone number after the deletion process is fully completed.

10. Changes to This Policy

Cookdin reserves the right to modify this Account Deletion Policy at any time. Updates will be posted on our website and app with the revised “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed of any changes.
