History

The event concept of Constitution Day Wilmington was conceived after a small group of citizens completed a Constitution class. They felt compelled to celebrate and instill an awareness and understanding of the US  Constitution and its content through educationally engaging activities, entertaining programs, displays and distributed

materials.

This event also, is able to encourage a response to the 2004 Federal statute which designated Constitution/Citizenship Day as a holiday with statutory educational requirements for Federally funded schools and agencies. Constitution Day Wilmington is a local celebration in partnership with area organizations and governing bodies with the intention to educate and engage the community.
