As the Cal Poly- Humboldt Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society, Conservation Unlimited vows to support BIPOC and other marginalized groups and to actively work to make our community and organization a welcoming place for all.
Members of Conservation Unlimited, the Student Wildlife Chapter of Cal Poly Humboldt, will not discriminate against individuals or groups within or out of the community based on their race, ethnicity, culture, or sexual orientation.
Conservation Unlimited will strive to be a safe place for members of all backgrounds to discuss and learn more about wildlife and skills related to the profession of wildlife biology.
Conservation Unlimited will work to represent the interests of all members within the community and to make sure that everyone has an equitable voice to be heard.
Conservation Unlimited will not tolerate any discriminatory behaviors from the members of our chapter and will take swift action to address these prejudices if they occur.
Across the United States and the world, the tensions of racial discrimination and colonialism have come to a head and sparked ongoing activism to bring about greater change. We are among those inspired. One way we will do our part is by gathering and distributing resources. Their purpose is to equip the current and future participants of CU with tools and information to support BIPOC and acknowledge the roles of racism and colonialism in our society. This list is by no means sufficient; addressing these issues requires active and enhanced participation in listening, understanding, and advocating for these groups.
