The CU board meets once a week on Tuesday night to organize events, talks, and workshops open to Cal Poly Humboldt students!
We are thankful to have a great board for the 2024-2025 year:
2025-2026 President:
Katie Bishop
Hello! My name is Katie Bishop and I am a Junior in the Wildlife program. I’m a transfer student who grew up exploring around Seattle, but I have been in Humboldt for a year now. I’m passionate about field work and research, specifically with an interest in birds. I’m excited to continue working with CU and get closer with the wildlife community both on and off campus!
2024-2025 President:
Patience Brennan
Hey! My name is Patience and I am a fourth year Wildlife Conservation and Management Major here at Cal Poly Humboldt! In my career I hope to work in research; on top of my passion for wildlife I’m also really interested in paleontology. I also love to go birding and spend time at the beach. I am so excited to be a part of CU and help provide resources for you all to get involved in the field!

2024-2025 Student Chapter Rep:
Joseph Meihak
Hey everyone! I'm Joseph and I’m a senior Wildlife major transfer most recently from Colorado. I'm mainly interested in carnivore conservation, human-wildlife interactions, working landscape ecology, and urban wildlife ecology. When I get the time, I love to hike, go birding, attempt to do very amateur wildlife photography, and just spend any time outside. I am super excited to continue to be a part of CU and the Wildlife community during my last year!
Media Coordinator:
Will Gallagher
I was born and raised in Fort Collin, Colorado. I grew up fly fishing, birding, hunting, & climbing on out public lands. From this upbringing I naturally grew fond of the natural world and of its inhabitants. (I also share a fondness for bluegrass, tea, and wool socks).

2025-2026 Secretary:
Willow Sedam
Hey, all, I’m Willow! I earned my associates degree in wildlife technology at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado, and transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt in 2025 to pursue a bachelor’s in wildlife. I am also an artist with a passion for environmental education and using my art to make science more accessible and engaging. I love to beachcomb, herp, and forage, and am enjoying learning everything I can about the amazing ecosystems up here in Humboldt!
2024-2025 Secretary:
BreeLynn Butler
Hey wildlifers! My name is BreeLynn and I am a senior in the Wildlife Department. I have been at Humboldt since Spring 2023, when I transferred from Oceanside, CA. I am most interested in science interpretation, bird migrations, freshwater fish, ecological restoration, and human-wildlife interactions. In my free time, I enjoy birding, hiking, climbing, reading books and articles, and photography. I’m excited to continue my role in CU during my last year. I also work on campus as an Admissions Ambassador and a research assistant. Feel free to say hello if you see me around!
