Consider the problem of finding a crease pattern on a single sheet of paper, such that it folds into a given three-dimensional shape. This is called Origami Design, which is the inverse problem, when we consider the folding of a given pattern a forward problem. The Origamizer is a software that outputs the crease pattern from a given polyhedron and was developed by Tachi in 2007 [Tachi 2010]. Later, Domaine and Tachi improved this algorithm to have universality, i.e., proving that any polyhedron can be created from a single sheet of paper [Demaine and Tachi 2017].— Tomohiro Tachi

An origami bunny folded for the Origamizer demonstration. A sheet of paper was creased by a cutting plotter and then hand folded over a period of about 10 hours. The original 3D model "Stanford Bunny" is a digital model of a 3D scanned bunny figurine by Turk and Levoy [Turk and Levoy 1994], a model extensively used as a benchmark model in CG research — Tomohiro Tachi
