PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME
Welcome to the Pack, Coyotes!
Get ready, future 6th graders—a thrilling adventure is about to begin!
You are officially getting ready to join the Connally family and stepping into the halls of middle school. This is a HUGE transition, and we know you might have a few jitters, but we want you to know this is one of the most exciting times of your life!
Think of middle school like finding your new pack. It’s a place where you'll make awesome new friends, explore cool subjects, and discover hidden talents you never knew you had. You'll learn how to navigate a bigger building, manage multiple classes, and become more independent—all major victories!
The secret to a successful transition? Be curious, be kind, and remember that everyone here—teachers, staff, and your fellow Coyotes—is rooting for you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, jump into a club, or just introduce yourself to someone new.
You are bringing your unique energy and brilliance to the Pack, and we can't wait to see you howl! Let's make this the best year yet!
Your Principal ~ Mr. Drumm

COYOTE AMBASSADORS ARE HITTING THE ROAD!
Our incredible team of Coyote Ambassadors is visiting our feeder elementary schools over the next couple weeks to talk to the current 5th-grade students about all the great things waiting for them at Connally Middle School. The Ambassadors are a select group of student leaders who represent all three grade levels at Connally Middle School (6th, 7th, and 8th grade). These representatives are enthusiastic, successful students who have been trained to share their personal experiences, answer questions, and help get the 5th graders excited about becoming a Coyote! The ambassadors will be providing a genuine, student-to-student perspective on:
Navigating the campus (finding classes and lockers).
A day in the life of a middle schooler (bell schedule, lunch, etc.).
Clubs, activities, and sports (getting involved is key!).
Tips for success in middle school.
Answering questions about everything from homework to electives.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our future Coyotes to hear directly from students who were in their shoes just a short time ago. Our goal is to make the transition to middle school feel fun and less intimidating.

Course Selections for 2026-2027 School Year
December 1, 2025 - JANUARY 9, 2026
embark on your middle school journey
One of the first steps in the middle school journey is selecting your courses for your 6th grade year!
The choices you make now are important as they lay the foundation for your academic path in middle school. Thoughtful course selections ensure that you are placed in classes that match your current skills, academic goals, and interests.
To help you and your family make informed decisions, we strongly encourage you to review the NISD Middle School Course Catalog. This resource provides detailed information on required core classes and descriptions of available elective courses.
Your elementary counselor will help you and your child through this process. We understand that interests and needs change so all students will have the opportunity to review and make changes during the spring semester.
We look forward to partnering with you for a successful start to Connally MS.
