Dr. Kang Su Kim is a Professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Seoul. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Architectural Engineering from Inha University and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, where he also worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. His research interests focus on the design and analysis of reinforced, precast, and prestressed concrete structures. His work also encompasses composite structures, earthquake engineering, fire engineering, damage assessment, non-destructive testing methods, concrete 3D printing, and the application of advanced materials, AI, and expert systems. With extensive experience in applied research and practical projects, Dr. Kim has published more than 250 journal papers, including 166 in SCIE journals. He has been honored with numerous awards, such as the Best Paper Award in Science and Engineering from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST), the Munho Academic Excellence Award from the Korea Concrete Institute (KCI), and the Charles C. Zollman Award from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). He has served as Vice President of the Korea Concrete Institute (KCI), Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK), and a member of the Central Construction Technology Evaluation Committee for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT), South Korea. Recently, he served as the Dean of the College of Urban Science and Director of the Institute of Urban Sciences at the University of Seoul. He has also held leadership positions as the Dean of the Office of Research Affairs, President of the UOS Industry Cooperation Foundation, Director of the UOS Startup Business Support Platform, and Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering.
