Introduction

Professor Kim received his B.S. and M.S. in Architectural Engineering from Inha University and completed his Ph.D in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he had also worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher. He teaches undergraduate courses on design and analysis of reinforced concrete structures and experiments in structures and materials, and graduate courses on prestressed concrete structures and advanced concrete engineering. He is a member of the Korean Concrete Institute(KCI), the Architectural Institute of Korea(AIK), etc. He has considerable research experiences in various aspects of design and analysis of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures as well as in large-scale experimental testing. His research interests also include design and analysis of PC structures, steel and composite structures, earthquake engineering focused on performance-based design, utilization of high strength concrete and other advanced materials, non-destructive testing methods for damage assessment, AI application, and etc.
