The 42 year old who is bringing receipts to the House floor has caught TikTok and the younger generation's attention.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Congresswoman Crockett was no stranger to public service. Jasmine grew up Christian, with her father being a teacher and preacher and her mother working for the United States Postal Service. Crockett attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where she received her Bachelor's degree in Business. Here, Crockett experienced racism and hate crimes which led her to further her education at the University of Houston Law Center to fight injustices in her future career.
After graduation, Jasmine worked as a civil rights attorney, public defender, eventually opened her own practice in Texas where she took many pro bono cases focused on Black Lives Matter, as well as being in the 87th Texas Legislature where she was the only Black freshman member and youngest legislator in Texas.
Being elected into Congress in 2023 with nearly 75% of the votes, Crockett has devoted her time in office to achieve justice and equality for all. Being the youngest Democratic representative at the time of her election in the 118th Congress, Crockett has worked to prove herself. She has filed more bills than any freshman member. The Congresswoman currently serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability as well as the Agriculture Committee. She is also part of many caucuses such as the Equality Caucus, Black Woman & Girls Caucus, and the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus. Jasmine has sponsored multiple pieces of legislation focusing on marginalized groups' rights and months, veteran rights, and drug and addiction services.

Hoping to get reelected, Congresswoman Crockett stands strong in her goals of expanding social safety nets and achieving equality for all, all while keeping her colleagues across the hall in check and calling out Congress' hypocrisy.
Crockett has shown her allegiance to her party by leaning very democratic with a score of 97.64 from Progressive Punch. She also has strong support from progressive interest groups such as Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Friends Committee on National Legislation, Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy, and Jolt Action. As the ratings show, it is extremely rare for the Congresswoman to cross party lines since she is very committed to progressive change in government.
Jasmine continues to be a model representative. Her freshman year, she won the seat for the Freshman Leadership Representative where she is one of the few Black women to ever hold this position. She is also the president of the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association, and a member of the Delta Sigma Thetas, a historically Black sorority.
