Conferences are a great opportunity to network with other biologists and environmental scientists. You will have the opportunity to present your research, attend scientific talks, meet diverse students, faculty, and researchers from institutions from around the US and even internationally! You will be able to talk to graduate students about their institutions and experiences, and find out about their graduate programs. You might even find a potential graduate research advisor you want to keep in touch with! We welcome applicants from all institution types, from first year to post-bac to apply.
Attending a national conference like Entomology have value even if you are not planning a research career or are not interested specifically in insects. You will gain experience in presenting your work and yourself in a professional context, improving your interview skills and developing your understanding of the broader context of your research project. It’s a great resume builder whether you are applying for graduate school, medical school or another health professions graduate program, or applying for a job in a biological or related field. Conferences are for everyone!!
Stay in the loop about everything happening with the Conference Cohort program including upcoming conferences, deadlines to apply, and other events!
