Mining facebook

INFOTEC, a resarch mexican institute wants to know, as any other, the impact it is generating. We wanted to know it by means analyzing the post and comments in the facebook page. Here are the results (attached).

In general Data mining and data science look for find hidden patterns or hidden information that helps to take decisions or predictions.

Today social networks are a big source of information as text strings that can tell us about what the people say about specific issues.

This work has as objective to bring and process automatically public information from specific Facebook profiles to obtain a general picture of the opinion of people about information shared in a specific profile.

This research is done in 4 phases:

1. Crawling: obtention of public information using spiders

2. Curing: Cleaning and formatting information

3. Processing: Application of data mining

4. Results: Introduction of results.

Decision taking still, in this approach, being a human activity derived from results of data mining.
