Hello!

I am Konni and I was born in Mesa, Arizona, and never left. I currently live with my husband, three daughters, three dogs, five cats, and three Guinea pigs. In addition to art and design, I love photography, reading, sewing, and baking.

I am an aspiring artist and writer who loves to create visual and literary content.

But I wasn't always aspiring in the creative field. Although I loved to write and draw when I was young, I grew up to be an accountant. But as much as I love working with figures, I stepped away to spend time as a mom. During my time with my kids, we did many hours of reading, crafting, and creating. I rediscovered my love for art and writing. But I could never choose which I love more. So with my youngest going to preschool, I decided that I'd have both. In May 2024 I graduated with two degree, one in degree in Creative Writing and the other in Graphic Design, a triple AAA artist-author-accountant type.

I find that this odd collection of skills makes me well-suited for any challenges that arise. And I am certainly looking forward to figuring out where it takes me!

Artist Statement

As a visual artist and writer, I find the imaginative world is a place full of chaos, chances, and conceivability. I like to find order in that world. I like to find a knot of an idea and figure out how to unravel it and weave it into something purposeful. With both pragmatic and creative thinking, I construct my ideas and solutions to form a finished product.

These products may be written or illustrated, but often are a combination of both as with my children’s books. However, I try to explore the visual and literary connection and communicate ideas and experiences in all my work. I utilize many mediums and combine traditional drawings, digital art, graphic design, prose, and poetry to see an idea from a new perspective. I create designs outside the lines. Whether it is plot or picture, text or texture, I enjoy this challenge and its varied outcomes.
