Save Waverly Woods

With any development IN a community comes responsibility TO the community. Development is inevitable, but it must be done wisely in the best interests of people and nature!

DID YOU KNOW? Harbourtown Development will….

• Destroy at least 30% of the mature woodland at Waverly Beach.

• Destroy wildlife habitat and corridors to the lake, nesting habitat for endangered birds and a vital migration stop for birds and Monarch butterflies.

• Build a huge unsightly 10 story condo, increasing traffic and pollution.

• Damage land of vital historical value. The most battle-field deaths on Canadian soil occurred during the siege of Fort Erie in 1814. Many burial sites of those soldiers killed in action are still not accounted for. This area has vital archaeological and historical importance including significant Aboriginal findings, as well as many foundations left from the famed Erie Beach Amusement Park.
