'Here is Maria Christina, who together with her mother Heidi, are the talented minds behind the captivating Msida Mosaic Project. Together, they have embarked on a creative journey to enhance open spaces using recyclable and reusable materials. Their dedication and attention to detail shine through as they meticulously and patiently bring these masterpieces to life. Beyond their artistic endeavors, Maria Christina and Heidi also foster sustainability through engaging mosaic workshops. Their initiative goes beyond creating beautiful artworks; it serves as a platform for connection, expression, and the celebration of diverse experiences within the community.'

Maria Christina's artistic interpretations
A collection of recyclable materials such as chinaware and glass are assembled piece by piece to compile mosaic artworks on a tile surface. These are hand cut with mosaic nippers and sanded by hand.
The choice of recyclable materials used for this artwork, M’Christina focused on the material’s line direction and space to create a wave movement stretching it to other interpretations. She created a contrast between one colour and another to add a balance to the composition.
