Community Gatherings are Special Zoom spaces for
anyone learning about deeper listening to
Practice and Connect with Each Other.
Most of us met through learning from Yvette Erasmus
and we started meeting up & practicing on our own.
These calls keep evolving and can be a nice place where
empathy buddy connections can naturally form.
The AfterParty is an open, un-facilitated space where folks
can gather after any call as well as on Saturdays.
On Thursdays, Fridays (and some Tuesdays)
the Community Gathering Zoom offers
casual gathering as well as a structured practice.
You are welcome to participate or just to watch.
We usually meet for about 90 minutes.
You are welcome to leave early or stay later.
We hope joining this Tuesday/Thursday/Friday self-led call
is like arriving at a friend’s home for a gathering.
You step into the foyer, say a quick hello to everyone,
and then decide where you’d most enjoy spending your time.
Perhaps you’d like to relax in the living room for friendly, informal conversation.
Or maybe you’re in the mood for something more structured and
head into the dining room to participate in (or simply observe) a guided practice.
Several other rooms are open too, each offering a different way to connect and learn.
The beauty of our gathering time is that you choose what feels most nourishing for you.
If you arrive after we’ve begun, don’t worry: the front door is always open.
Come on in, help yourself to a snack, pour a warm or cool drink,
and settle into whichever room feels right.
Room 1: The Living Room: Friendly, informal conversation.
Meet people, catch up, or simply enjoy being in community with one another. Come for a chat.
Room 2: Practice Partners: Empathy practice or role-play for two people.
Room 3: Hosted 3-Minute Practice (Thursdays & 2nd, 4th, 5th Tuesdays):Is this your first time on the call? This is the perfect place to start. We’ll explain everything, guide you through it, and you’re welcome to simply observe if you prefer.
Room 4: Self-Guided 3-Minute Practice: For those who are already familiar with the 3-Minute Practice and would like structured practice independently. (4 people is ideal)
Room 5: Empathy Circles (on Fridays): A facilitated empathy circle for anyone wanting a deeper shared experience. (6 people is ideal)
Room 6: Community Choice: Bring an idea, start a conversation, or join whatever emerges. A few Practice Ideas are Here
To wrap up the call we often
Celebrate what went well and what we’ve learned about ourselves.
This is also a great time to address anything that was glitchy.
Glitchy moments can actually lead to deeper understanding and connection.
It is all “on the way!”
After 90 minutes, folks are welcome to stay longer to talk.
We gather to connect, practice, play and “do it badly!”
We commit to holding one another with compassion, respect, and dignity.
We practice compassionate communication and show up with a clear
intention to focus on our feelings, needs, and requests.
Each of us takes responsibility for staying in choice & meeting our needs as they arise.
Looking forward to practicing and seeing where this all goes.
Hope you join us on this Compassionate Communication Adventure!
