The history of Epcot, from its earliest foundations, was supported by corporate sponsors. Not only did this allow companies to put their name out there to people across the world, but it gave Disney the financial support to reinvest in new experiences and keep guests coming back time and time again. Nowhere was this most benefitable than CommuniCore.
This section of World Celebration has been dedicated to the advancement of science and technology and with that comes the constant need to evolve as the technology evolves. Everyone knows of the headaches keeping Tomorrowland up to date, but Disney has taken a new spin on sponsors to help with this problem.
Instead of one sponsor to cover an entire pavilion, CommuniCore will have several smaller sponsors for each attraction/show. This will not only keep the financial burden relatively low for sponsors but could also provide Disney with an easier time (if/when a sponsorship ends) of finding a replacement, if a corporation was only responsible for one small portion. Both sides can benefit with this arrangement, and guests will enjoy a CommuniCore with a consistently updated experiences. With this in mind, Epcot, in its present form, will undergo an overall. But not to worry, CommuniCore enthusiasts, it will still be focused on the wonders of science and technology.
"Technology is best when it brings people together.”
- Matt Mullenweg
This simple message is the heart of CommuniCore, bringing people together through ideas and possibilities of the future. This, however, does not mean the past is forgotten. On the contrary, CommuniCore is a place where the past, present, and future are celebrated as one. Our past has taught us and molded our present, and it is in the present that we strive for a better future. Technology is the unifying force that binds us together. Here at CommuniCore, guests can relive the past, celebrate the present, and dream of the possibilities of tomorrow.
