At the center of CommuniCore is the Reflections Courtyard, a new enclosed green space that showcases the beauty of the natural world. Aptly named after the beloved former nighttime spectacular, the new courtyard celebrates the wonders of life through picturesque gardens, calming water features, and stirring performances.
Towering high above the courtyard is a new glass dome, providing guests with a covered area from the Floridian sun and rain. Made of steel and glass panels, the dome mimics the triangular panels of the nearby Spaceship Earth dome, a salute to the past from the present and the future.
As part of Disney's sustainability efforts, the glass panels of the glass dome are insulated to maintain a standard temperature across the courtyard and photovoltaic to produce solar energy for the pavilion's electrical needs. This would reduce the need for traditional energy sources that may contribute to the destruction of natural resources.
A newly-redesigned Fountain of Nations will serve as the "beating heart" of the Reflections Courtyard and CommuniCore as a whole. The Fountain of Nations is a beacon of unity and togetherness under "one moon and one golden sun." Surrounded by nature's art, it serves as a reminder of the core values of our humanity: care, collaboration, compassion, and creativity.
The new fountain is more circular to complement the circular courtyard. Its base has been redesigned to resemble the flower-shaped, five-ring logo of EPCOT, which in itself is a symbol of togetherness. Waterfalls from the upper tier (a feature retained from the original Fountain) cascade down to the flower-shaped base and onto five reflecting pools (symbolizing the oceans of the world) on the ground level. Curving bridges will cross these pools, allowing guests to access the different areas of the courtyard without wading through the water.
The topmost tier of the fountain retains the design from the original Fountain. Designed after the planetary icon of Earth, the topmost tier contains several "dancing" fountain jets with LED bases (similar to those used in World of Color at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim) that could be programmed to "dance" to various musical selections, ranging from original music to seasonal musical selections.
In addition to the new Fountain of Nations and its reflecting pools, several terraced gardens will be introduced to the courtyard. These gardens, divided into six distinct plots, represent the five inhabited continents of the world through their respective flora.
Great care has been taken by the Walt Disney World horticulture team to represent a variety of species for each section. Examples of species for each section include:
Gardens of Africa: Agapanthus (lily of the Nile) and Spathodea campanulata (African tuliptree)
Gardens of the Americas: Pelagornium (geranium) and Liriodendron tulipifera (American tulip tree)
Gardens of Asia: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (Chinese hibiscus) and Prunus 'Kanzan' (Japanese flowering cherry)
Gardens of Australia: Acacia pycnantha (golden wattle) and Sphaeropteris cooperi (Australian tree fern)
Gardens of Europe: Nerium oleander (oleander) and Chamaerops humilis (European fan palm)

On the plot facing the bridge towards World Showcase is Dreamers' Point, where a statue of Walt Disney looking out to the vista of EPCOT will be placed. With the dramatic background of Spaceship Earth and being surrounded by nature, there is no better place for the future-forward and nature-loving Walt than here.
From time to time, several platform stages will be raised from the ground up to the topmost part of the fountain base to create a raised space for performances to take place in. Similar to the planter stages at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris, these stages will allow the audience to have multiple views of the performances and provide a unique experience never before seen at Walt Disney World.
