We encourage everyone to attend the Swansboro Board of Commissioners meeting at 6pm on Tuesday September 23, at Swansboro Town Hall. Those who are opposed to the development are encouraged to wear white shirts. This vote will have a lasting impact on our town, and it is important that our Commissioners see and hear the overwhelming majority of residents who want responsible, sustainable growth for Swansboro and want them to vote no to Flybridge.
Alaina Laster covered the 9/2 Planning Board meeting and shared some great clips of the strong public comments made.

Mark your calendars people!
We hope you will attend these meetings and wear a white shirt. Having a strong public turn-out to the town meetings sends a clear message to our elected representatives: residents want our Land Use Plan respected and our voices heard. As always, please remain composed and courteous, especially if you intend to speak (and we hope you do!).
Flybridge developers held their perfunctory community meetings in back-to-back sessions Monday night (6/28/25). What they didn't expect was a packed house. The room was overflowing with residents in white shirts and "No Flybridge" stickers, a powerful show of unity and opposition. The question now: will our Commissioners listen?

The developers behind the proposed Flybridge community just shared an update on their website, making clear their plans to resubmit their rezoning request and move forward with adding 324 apartments and 6 commercial out-parcels to our small town. I encourage you to read the overly confident and condescending "vision" for Swansboro. Introducing Flybridge Swansboro – Carolina Commercial Contractors.
We encourage everyone to attend the community meetings 7/28 at the Swansboro Rec Center at 6pm and 7pm and wear a white shirt to visually display your opposition to this proposed development. The goal of attending is to listen, ask questions, and respectfully demonstrate our opposition. Please remain composed and courteous and do not be disruptive.
Join us at the meeting room at St. Peter's by the Sea church in downtown Swansboro.
It will be a casual, come-and-go style meeting. We will have community polls and information on important town topics.
