Instructions for Coleman Fuel / White Gas
White Gas or Coleman Fuel is shipped as "Petroleum distilates, n.o.s." or "Petroleum products, n.o.s."
White gas is allowed on flights carrying passengers if certain quantities limitations and packing requirements are met.
Must be in a Combination package for passenger aircraft.
Outer package must be a Spec container §173.202 (4G box or equivalent).
Inner packaging may be metal or plastic.
Inner packaging closures of packages containing liquids must be held securely in place by secondary means such as Tape or friction sleeves §173.27(d).
Max net capacity of each inner package - 5L (1.32 gal §173.27 table 1).
Max net capacity of each complete package - 5L (1.32 gal §172.101 col 9A)
No limit for the number of complete packages
The following must be displayed on the same side of the outer package:
The proper name and material ID number (UN1268)
The Flammable Liquids label and
Orientation arrows Label
The Name and address of the shipper

The proper shipping name for White Gas or Coleman Fuel is "Petroleum distilates, n.o.s." or "Petroleum products, n.o.s."

Inner packaging closures of combination packages containing liquids must be held securely in place by secondary means such as Tape or friction sleeve caps.
Max net capacity of each inner package - 0.5L (16.9 fl oz §173.27 table 1)
Max net capacity of each complete package - 1L (33 fl oz §173.27 table 3) (ie: 3-11oz MSR fuel bottles with tape on caps, inside a box or other sturdy container)
