Colossians 4:1-6
Pray, be thankful, and full of grace
1Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.
Further Instructions
2Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
St. Paul had a passion for ministering to us and others...Even when he was in chains, he was on message to preach what he believed in...He was in chains at differing times because he believed in Jesus and continued to teach that message to others...
He tells us to make the most of our opportunities...We must remember that how we act and work with others is in Jesus' message and what He taught (love thy neighbor)...With Jesus no longer on earth, who but followers of Jesus would continue His word and teachings...
St. Paul in his letter to the Colossians tells them to pray, be prepared, and be thankful...He also tells us to pray for others (in this case to him and those with him)...Pray and devote yourself to prayer...Prayer is ongoing...If we are watchful, we are thinking of the future and praying today and tomorrow...
