ARCH: Adaptive Recreation for Childhood Health

The ARCH program has been getting kids outdoors, and exploring the mountain on skis and snowboards for decades.  Fellows have an opportunity to volunteer for this program.  Dr. Wendy Pierce ('11) served as a bus chaperone and still volunteers with ARCH.  Drs. Stephanie Tow ('19) and Cosmo Kwok ('20) volunteered for 2 years as instructors in the program.

Center for Gait & Movement Analysis

Gait Lab data reviews occur weekly on Tuesday mornings.  During these sessions, there are multidisciplinary reviews of the data with discussion about the clinical, surgical, rehabilitation and orthotic recommendations.  The sessions are attended by 2 Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine faculty, 2-3  orthopedic surgeons, 1-2 PTs, 1-2 orthotists, and engineers.  There are robust research opportunities involving the data from the CGMA.

Center for Innovation

CHCO has many innovative technologies available for high quality care and rehabilitation.

Ventilator Care

CHCO PRM Fellows participate in the care of children who are on ventilators on acute consults as well as on the inpatient rehabilitation service.  Acuity of care is supported by a comprehensive Pulmonary care service with Respiratory Therapy and Pulmonary specialty care expertise.  Fellows will learn management of tracheostomies as well and opportunities for higher level ventilator care.
