There are 5 different type of infractions given out in the department. Infractions can be appealed by the officer who received them if they feel it was not necessary by opening an IA ticket or by appealing via form. Infractions should only be given out by a master sergeant or higher. Everyone is expected to stick to this policy and follow the procedures outlined in this guide. Any violations will lead to appropriate disciplinary actions based on the situation. All department members commit to these procedures after completing their training.
Ranked from least severe to most severe.
A Notice does not go on your record in the department. It is used for mistakes big enough that need correcting but not severe punishment. Can be given out by Master Sergeant+
A warning is used for a more serious mistake made by a deputy. 3+ warnings = 1 strike. Can be Given out by Master Sergeant+
A strike is given to a deputy when there is a very serious offense that has taken place. 3 strike = suspension. Only a master sergeant or higher can give a strike.
A suspension is given to an officer that is under review or needs forced time away from the department. All of their operations and duties in the department will be seized and they will in no way shape or form represent our department while on Suspension. This may only be given out by Administrative Command or higher.
A termination is given out either for poor activity within the department or if an deputy made a severe decision that needs immediate action needed. This can be given out by Administrative Command. But Administrative Command will need permission by an Assistant Chief of Police or higher.
