You never really know who's going to show up next, but I sure am happy that each one of them did.
This is a story about a girl named Luckie. Luckie is a Jumbo Pekin hen who lost her flock to predators and was being transported to an adopter. During transport, it was discovered she had an apparent foot infection. She needed to see a vet and could not be adopted out in that condition.
After much care and a wonderful community, Luckie has found her forever home.
Finn was found in General's Park in Aurora when he was three weeks old. He was dumped with another duckling who had already passed on when we arrived. Finn bonded with a TY stuffed animal. Later he became the third wheel to the other ducks. He was joy, who was just looking to be accepted. And found that bonding and acceptance wth other ducks through his adoption.
Roxy and Big Boi were the easiest rescue that we ever had. After being called out by the rangers at Quincy Reservoir, we arrived to find two ducks ready to jump in our car and go home. Looking for treats, love, and food, the two had obviously been raised with a family before they were dumped. It was a clear riches-to-rags story. Lucky for them, their new rags quickly turned back to riches when we were able to find them a new home.
