Lower Bebington Timeline

Below is a timeline of events that may have affected life in Lower Bebington.

The dates and events maybe open to interpretation, missing or even incorrect.

But by jotting them down it highlights areas for clarification and checking.

They may relate to the former Borough of Bebington.

Lower Bebington is often referred to as just Bebington, Bebbington or Bebington Village,

whereas Higher Bebington is always called that (or Firbob Land)

Of all the events, I think the building of the railway (1837-1840) must have had the most dramatic effect on the people of Lower Bebington.

Not because of the effect on transport but because it created a very high and solid barrier along one side of the area.
