Control of Kinetic Sculptures at COSMOS UC San Diego
Control of Kinetic Sculptures at COSMOS UC San Diego
The California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science is a four week long program held at UC San Diego for high school students interested in the STEM field. Divided into multiple clusters based on a specific learning goal, the program allows students to have their first experiences working with university faculty and researchers on topics that extend beyond the typical high school curriculum. Below is a report of the final project, which involves a kinetic sculpture that carries marbles in an infinite loop around the structure as long as it is connected to a power source.
Digital Media Academy at UC Berkeley
Digital Media Academy is a two week long course in which students are able to develop a better grasp of topics that they are interested in. The 3D printing course exposes students to both the software (Tinkercad) and hardware (Ultimatker 2+) that goes into having something made. Below are a few renderings I did for a hypothetical playground that can be constructed using readily available materials in underdeveloped countries, and the product was later presented in front of a UC Berkeley design committee.
