Watch Video #1 & Video #2 to understand coding.
Then, Follow the steps below to complete the 'Pattern Recognition' activity.
Your Mission:
Create a Scratch program that sorts shapes by color, just like how AI recognizes patterns! Watch the two videos above. Then follow the steps below!
Step 2: Add Shapes
Click the Choose a Sprite button (it looks like a cat face).
Pick 2 or 3 different shapes (circle, square, triangle).
Step 3: Color Your Shapes
Click each shape.
Click the Costume tab (top left).
Use the paint tools to change the color of each shape.
Step 4: Make Sorting Zones
Click the Backdrops tab.
Use the paint tools to draw two colored boxes on the Stage (for example, a red zone and a blue zone).
Step 5: Code the Sorting
when this sprite clicked
go to x: [zone x] y: [zone y]
Tip: To find the coordinates, drag your shape to the zone and look at the x/y numbers below the Stage.
Step 6: Test Your Program
Click each shape. Does it move to the correct colored zone?
Bonus Challenge!
Add a third zone for a new color or shape.
Make your code move shapes to the right spot based on both their color and their shape!
