Dr. Shivananju B N obtained his Ph.D. in 2014 from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India on "Advanced Multifunctional Bulk Optical & Fiber Bragg Grating Sensing Techniques". He worked as a Research Fellow in abroad (Australia and China) for 5 years on "Two-dimensional Materials based Photonics, Optoelectronics, and Biochemical Sensing Applications".
Since 2020 he has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Shivananju's research interest focus on "Two-dimensional Materials based Biochemical Optical Sensors, Photonics & Optoelectronics, Polaritons & Nano-FTIR, Optogenetics & Neural Imaging Applications"
Shivananju has more than 35 journal and international conference publications, as well as 4 book chapters and 1 patent. Some of his publications appeared in many prestigious journals such as Nature Communications, Nature Light Science & Applications, Advanced Functional Materials, Small, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, Applied Physics Letters, Sensors and Actuators: Chemical B, Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Sensors, Review of Scientific Instruments, etc. His publications have received >1050 citations, with an H-index of 15 (Google Scholar).
Shivananju currently serves as a Guest Editor of Sensors (MDPI) international journal and Reviewer of various international journals such as Nanoscale, Langmuir, Optics Express, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Materials Science and Engineering: B, RSC Advances, etc.
