The main objective of the Code-I-Con summer camp is to reach students, in grades 3-8, and introduce them to the realm of programming. We strive to deliver a unique learning experience to each and every one of our students and adapt to their learning styles.

Courses
In this 5 day programming course - 1 hour each day - our students will explore the world of coding and learn how to make their very first video game! We will be using code.org to program our JavaScript game and look at the output. In this course, students will have the option to do block coding or text coding, so it is perfectly suited for those who are new to programming. Together we will create various games and eventually, our students will make their own game!
Available for 3-5th graders. Exceptions can be made if needed.
Classes will take place 6 PM - 7 PM on July 10, 2025 - July 14, 2025
In this 10 day course for complete beginners - 1 hour each day - our students will plunge into the realm of coding and learn how to make their very own website! We will be using the Visual Studio Code editor to type our code and give an output of our website. Using HTML, we will program our webpage and give it unique styles with CSS! In addition, this course will feature a guest speaker who will talk to our students about the future of coding and its specific uses in the real world.

Classes will take place 6 PM - 7 PM on July 17, 2025 - July 28, 2025
In this 5 day course - 2 hours each day - our mildly experienced coders will dive deep into the depths of python programming and be introduced to game development. Using a code editor called Replit, our students will learn how to input their code and output their results. We will walk our students from the basics of writing print statements to the complications of writing for loops, answering all of their questions every step of the way!
Available to 6th-8th graders. Exceptions can be made if needed.
