Over the last few years, I have had the privilege of designing the paint schemes for Online Speedway Racing League driver Chris Pervolarakis and his #49 Checker Schuck's Kragen Ford Taurus. The paint scheme on the top is made on iRacing's Gen 4 Stock Car templates, the car model that is currently utilized by the OSRL's Premier Series, while the paint scheme on the bottom is the ARCA Menard's Series Ford Mustang template released on iRacing in early 2025.
Each of these paint schemes are based on various Checker Schuck's Kragen funny cars; the top scheme is based on Frank Pedregon's Pontiac Firebird funny car from the 2001 NHRA season while the bottom scheme is based on the Chevrolet Monte Carlo funny car piloted by Del Worsham in 2006.
These paint schemes proved to be a very fun creative challenge, turning paint schemes featured on drag racing cars into stock car paint schemes, seeing how I could take the framework of a funny car paint scheme and rearrange it to better match the body contours of a stock car was a very interesting (and very fun) process!
I have made various different paint scheme concepts utilizing mods created for the video game NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, ranging from NASCAR's "Gen 4" stock car bodies, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series bodies, NASCAR's "Next Gen" stock car bodies, and many more. The schemes you see here will be divided by the generation (or type) of car each paint scheme is created on.
This paint scheme concept is based on NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon and his iconic Dupont #24, which became famous in the 1990s for its rainbow motif. This scheme pays homage to that by having rainbows arcing across the entire scheme, lining up with the Dupont sponsor logos to make them pop off the page.
This paint scheme concept is based on Terry LaBonte's iconic Hendrick Motorsports #5, which sported various Kellogg's brands (most notably Corn Flakes) throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s. In this scheme, Toucan Sam and Kellogs' Froot Loops cereal brand adorn the sides and the hood of the car.
This 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Planter's Peanuts #81 paint scheme concept was initially a creative warm-up I started on one day that I ended up liking enough to turn into a fully fleshed out paint scheme.
I created this paint shceme for a friend who wanted to run a Carl's Jr. sponsored Pontiac featuring the #84 in the Petty Enterprises-styled font in a league he competed in.
Here is a paint scheme concept I put together for a contest, based loosely on Tony Kanaan's 7-Eleven IndyCar paint scheme that ran throughout much of the 2000s.
This is a paint scheme concept I created for a Napster-sponsored NASCAR truck, complete with a graphic resembling the old Napster "connecting to server" screen from the early '00s.
I created this paint scheme for a friend who wanted to race a U-Haul sponsored truck in a league he competed in. U-Haul often promotes their services by offering moving trucks for $19.95, hence the tie-in with the number being 19.
Here is another late '90s styled paint scheme, this being a Chevrolet Silverado sponsored by ExtraMile Convenience Stores, a chain of convenience stores found throughout the west coast.
This is a paint scheme I created that is based on the design of the Blacksmith monster truck that competed in Monster Jam throughout the mid 2000s.
Here is a pair of paint schemes based on and inspired by the famous Bigfoot monster truck. This paint scheme is based on the pink and teal "Bigfoot Cruiser" paint scheme that ran throughout the 1990s...
...while this teal-and-white paint job is based on the alternate "Wildfoot" identity that the Bigfoot team campaigned at many PENDA Points Series events throughout the 1990s!
This is a paint scheme I created that is based on the Cotton Candy Faygo flavor, a soda brand that is most popular in Michigan. The paint job itself is based on the design that is found on cans of the drink.
Another paint scheme concept I created for a friend, this one featuring the red, white and green colors of Sbarro Pizza.
