This paint scheme concept is based on William Byron's #24 Chevrolet Camaro that runs in the NASCAR Cup Series. It was recently announced that energy drink brand Phorm Energy will be sponsoring Byron in two Cup Series races this year and I decided to put forth my own take on the concept!
In January of 2026, fast food chain Hardee's announced it would be sponsoring NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, but no paint scheme was announced... so I took it upon myself to put pen to paper and make my own set of Hardee's paint schemes! I ended up creating two variations, one for races during the day, one for night races.
In the fall of 2024, LEGACY Motor Club co-owner Jimmie Johnson and sponsor Carvana gave race fans the opportunity to submit a design that would be run by Johnson at that year's championship race in Phoenix Raceway. This was the design I submitted, blending the blue colors of Carvana with LEGACY Motor Club's primary gold color. While my design did not win the contest, the design garnered hundreds of likes on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Advent Health has adorned Erik Jones' #43 car for the last three years and they consistently put out some of my favorite paint schemes in all of NASCAR. I decided I wanted to try my hand at creating my own concept, complete with a circular "rolling hills" motif along the side of the car with Advent Health's 4-leaf clover logo proudly featured on the hood.
Additionally, Dollar Tree -- another company that often sponsors the #43 -- occasionally partners with brands that the company sells at their stores to create special paint schemes, one of which is Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew just recently launched a new rebrand, and the soda brand has a long history in NASCAR -- a history includes being a former title sponsor of the Southern 500, a race that driver Erik Jones has won twice in his NASCAR career.
Throwback paint schemes are always a treat to make and this one is certainly no exception -- this William Byron throwback scheme pays tribute to the Dupont-sponsored Bigfoot Chromalusion monster truck that competed throughout the late '90s and the early '00s.
This throwback paint scheme for Team Penske driver Austin Cindric is based on the Team ASE Ford F150 campaigned by Ultra Motorsports and driver Mike Wallace in the 2000 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. This paint scheme is famous for winning the first ever NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway, the same site as Cindric's first Cup Series victory in the 2022 Daytona 500.
Here is another throwback paint scheme concept, this one being for LEGACY Motor Club driver John Hunter Nemechek, paying tribute to the Bellsouth #42 that his father Joe Nemechek campaigned in the 1990s.
The three paint schemes posted above are a set of paint schemes I designed as a creative exercise for three of my friends. Working with each of them to replicate the colors and styles that each of them wanted for their paint schemes was a very fun process and a great learning experience for me as a designer.
I created this Faygo paint scheme (left) as a personal project for an "offline" NASCAR Racing 2003 Season league that is run by a friend of mine every summer. Moon Mist is Faygo's version of a caffeinated, citrus-flavored soda in the same vain as Mountain Dew or Mello Yello. This was one of my first experiences incorporating halftone gradients into a paint scheme; the design along the sides of the car closely resembling the design found on labels of Faygo Moon Mist.
This Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers #55 Ford Mustang Dark Horse (right) was created for a client who wanted a bold, flame-based paint scheme that incorporated the Raising Cane's logo and tagline, which are prominently featured on the sides and hood of the paint scheme.
This Carvana #84 Toyota Camry (top) was created as a project for a friend of mine who wanted to run a Jeff Gordon throwback paint scheme in an online league that he competed in. The scheme pays homage to Gordon's iconic "T-Rex" car that dominated the 1998 NASCAR All-Star Race. This design is complete with a redesigned "parody" of the dinosaur featured on Gordon's paint scheme; the dinosaur on Gordon's car has been replaced with a rendering of a Toyota Camry.
