Gabriel M. Sanchez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Native American and Indigenous Studies at the University of Oregon. He is the director of the Coastal Archaeology, Proteomics, and Zooarchaeology laboratories. He also directs the Collaborative Archaeology Field School in collaboration with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band and Land Trust. Gabriel’s research interests include collaborative archaeology, community-based participatory research, geophysics, historical ecology, proteomics, and zooarchaeology. Currently, he is involved in collaborative research projects in central and northern California, coastal Oregon, and the Great Basin.
