is a Lecturer in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Department at a Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and a PhD candidate. Her research focuses on exploring and co-designing emerging technologies to enhance the reading experience of primary learners in Namibia. Through collective research, Helvi worked with young learners from Primary Schools exploring emerging technologies, redesigned the reading space, and co-designed reading technology tools. She ventured in co-facilitating online and in-person workshops.

As a researcher she designs, undertakes and report on research where Software Development is the research focus and applies techniques and/or deals with a specific application problem connected with the field of interest. She has a passion for working on projects for under-represented groups, marginalised communities, education resilience using technology, and community transformation. She has specialised in the use of technology to strengthen resilience in marginalised children to reduce school dropouts. She continues to focus on education resilience using technology and co-designing with children.

Her primary focus is co-designing with children, indigenous people, and other groups. Through her involvement in various research projects, she has gained valuable experience and contributed to the field by exploring innovative approaches to technology design.

She co-ordinates co-creation research activities with unemployed youth in an informal settlement in Windhoek, Namibia.
